Graphic design and sports go hand-in-hand. In fact, they are inseperable.
When I was 5 or 6 years old, I can remember looking up at the TV screen during Bengals and Reds games and being captivated by all the different logos, brands, and colors. I remember staying up past my bed time and just starring at the team selection screen logos on the ever-famous EA sports Madden 2005 game. I was simply captivated by the branding and aethetics of the amazing sport of football. I was hooked!
Graphic design started my love for sports. It made me feel part of something greater; part of the team that I was rooting for to win the game. For me and so many other sports fans around the globe, graphic design and branding are the first impressions and exposures to the great game. It is the front-line is the ever present battle for people’s attention in the marketplace. Graphic design makes a difference... esspecially in the sports world!
So enthralled in my passions for both sports and graphic design, I set out to combine my two loves into a career. I graduated from Cedarville University in 2018 and completed the Sports Industry Essentials Program through Columbia University in the summer of 2018. My diversified college experiences prepared me for the transition into a professional design career. In-house positions at my university and with the Dayton Dragons Professional Baseball Team were instrumental in my achievement of success thus far in my career. Each role helping me learn and grow all aspects of my professional acumen and allowing me to achieve a Director role with my current team.
I currently serve as the Creative Services and Production Director for the Richmond Flying Squirrels Professional Baseball Team. The ever changing world of Minor League Baseball has greatly fine tuned my skills garnered in college, and helped leverage my versatile skill set. From the late night home games of running the video board graphics and the web-based TV stream, to creating all marketing and branding collateral for each season; I’ve been able to balance a high level of quality in a variety of different in-house roles through a variety of different mediums. But, most importantly, I have been able to instill that same sense of belonging and captivation to an entire community that I felt when I was just 5 or 6 years old.
When I am not working, I am usually watching sports or hanging out with my wife and our lovable goof of a Golden Retriever named Jager. We currently reside in Clarksville, TN where my wife is stationed at Fort Campbell as a JAG Officer in the Army.
